Adrian Frutiger's work acknoledged with design award
On 22 October Adrian Frutiger's work was acknowledged in Bern's town hall when he received the 'Stiftung für angewandte Kunst' design award. Over decades his typefaces have changed the design and print world. The Frutiger typeface, originally designed for the Charles de Gaulle airport and named Roissy, is today one of the most popular fonts alongside his other famous type, Univers. Switzerland has updated all its road signage to Frutiger. At 80 years of age, Adran Frutiger still works in his studio in Bremgarten in the Canton of Berne.
