London design agency Transport Design Consultancy commissioned Dalton Maag to design an original font as part of a project to design all signage in Dubai's modern Metro system. It is often the case that an Arabic design takes its lead from its Latin sibling but the font for Dubai Roads & Transport Authority is unique in that both script systems were designed side by side, none receiving precedence over the other. The resulting font is harmonious and respectful to both script cultures.
