Zurich offers the only certification at higher level within the Swiss design education for budding type designers. The course's emphasis is on methodology and craftmanship.

The students are recruited from the areas of Visual Communication, Media, Architecture and even City Planning. The two-semester course will enable the student to conceptualise and realise type design related projects. Besides practising the development of type the course also focusses on historical and theoretical elements in type design.

The course certificate will be taken in accreditation for the 'Master in Type Design and Typography'.
