Dalton Maag worked alongside the design agency Ideenhaus who were tasked with refreshing the visual identity of Winterthur Insurance. Dalton Maag provided the typographic expertise to develop a coherent logo style for the main brand as well as the various sub brands. We also designed a new Serif typeface.

The name for this new fashion store in New York is derived from Olatz Schnabel, wife of the artist Julian Schnabel. During the development of the logo we worked closely with the artist to ensure that the spirit of the brand is captured.

Southern

The Southern logo was inspired by the logo of the original Southern Railways. Broad letterforms and solid serifs capture the romantic spirit of the early days or railways. To support the logo, Southern use a typeface by Dalton Maag - Stroudley.

FIBA

The logo was also developed into a full headline typeface, for use by the client only. The letter shapes are strong and confident, exactly what is needed when you play basketball.

The elegance in this word mark is in its simplicity. However, simplicity requires perfect crafting and balancing or it will not work. Dalton Maag refined the lettering and spacing from the initial version supplied by the client.

Ministry of Sound

Dalton Maag were asked to provide the typography for this well known UK music label. We initially supplied various typographical routes with the one currently in use being crafted to work well in different sizes and applications. The most challenging aspect was to ensure that the type works well on the curve of the logo.

The design agency provided us with a design. We needed to explore some lettering variations without changing the look and feel of the logo. The final design needed to be crafted for large and small sizes.

A strong word mark was all that was needed for this charity. The letterforms are strong enough to withstand even the crudest of applications, such as stencilling on sack cloth, or spray painting on a timber wall. Of course, the logo works equally well in refined environments.

The logo design, approved by the client, needed enhancement and refinement. We were particularly concerned with perfect letter spacing in a variety of sizes.

Although we paid some attention to the lettering, the main effort went into the symbol of this logo. The strands of this helix underwent several redraws before they could be considered just right.

As the client is a hospital service, the typography must feel friendly, soft and inviting. Dalton Maag worked on this logo with the design agency, using Frutiger as a basis, and harmonized the shapes and spacing of the letters to one another, and ensured that it works with the hand-drawn symbol.

Dalton Maag designed the type for this teen magazine logo. The lettering in the logo was also developed into a lowercase typeface both forward and backward slanting.

Dalton Maag refined an initial design of the logo for the Irish telecom client. The letterforms remind us of the Celtic heritage of the Irish. We also developed a custom typeface that is in a similar spirit.
