You will know that sometimes a licensed font is perfect for a project if only it could be tweaked a little. Perhaps a little more weight, or a slight alteration to some characters, to make them stand out more. Maybe new styles need to be added, to make the font work within a corporate identity program. Sometimes missing characters have to be created for an Eastern European language. Anyone who has worked with fonts will be familiar with all these issues.
