Fonts are a vehicle for communication in written form. Our designer's skills and experience ensure that the characters, in any language, are legible and aesthetically pleasing. Our engineers ensure that .
Around two billion people use the Latin alphabet to represent their native language. This covers a vast geographical region, including the Americas, Europe (except for Greece), large parts of Africa and some areas in Asia. The Latin Extended-A character set supports over fifty languages. Most of the fonts in the Dalton Maag Exclusives library are already built to this standard, with the rest to follow. We always strongly recommend that you commission your fonts to support at least this character set, allowing your company to communicate in the local language across a large part of the world.
The Cyrillic alphabet is used in most of the former Soviet Union. About 500 million people utilize this script system for their native language, with Russian being the main example. Some other language such as Bulgarian and Serbian use Cyrillic alongside Latin. If your client operates in Russia, you will need Cyrillic support to communicate your brand efficiently. Our design team is experienced in harmonizing Cyrillic characters with Latin characters.
Greek is the foundation for both the Latin and Cyrillic script systems. Today, however, it is only used in Greece, mostly in its simplified, monotonic form. If your company operates globally, we think it is important to include this script system within your font. Our designers can easily integrate the Greek script with Cyrillic and Latin.
There are many other script system supporting many other languages. These tend to be more complex than those mentioned above, but our design and engineering team can discuss your language needs with you and advise on the most economic solution for your company.
