Fonts Modified: Why modify an existing font?

Unique and Distinct

A few changes to some key characters can make all the difference to the look and feel of the font you have chosen for your client. Sometimes more extensive changes are necessary to achieve a unique expression that will become the client's signature. Our design team will discuss your ideas with you and ensure the changes are applied consistently throughout the entire character set.

Functionality

You may have been using a font for some time, but have now found that your requirements have grown. For example, many fonts still only support Western European languages, when most clients have worldwide communication needs. We can help you expand your font into full Latin Extended-A and even add Cyrillic or Greek characters as they are needed. Or if the font is available elsewhere with this character set available, we can engineer new fonts with font names that match your existing fonts to avoid any disruption to your workflow.

While most fonts today come in a reasonably broad range of styles (Regular, Bold, Italic etc.) you may find that you have a need for an intermediate weight, or maybe you require a Condensed style for use in timetables. By using the existing font as a template our design team can create a new font that both matches the existing design and fits your requirements exactly.

Technology

The font that you have chosen may look great, but is not available in the all of the font formats you need? Has it been enhanced for screen display? Our long experience of working with corporate client means that we can advise on how best to meet your needs and can deliver fonts to solve technical problems.
