A brand review led to a new font design for BT. The new font family, consisting of two styles, replaces the previous sans serif font family, also designed by Dalton Maag.
Together with London agency Venture 3, we designed a new font family consisting of two styles. The New BT fonts are based on a design by Miles Newlyn and the Fontbureau, created in 1999 for BT Openworld. They replace the fonts we designed in 1999 as part of a brand review and complement the changes to BT's brand identity by being more restrained in look and feel, yet they do not lose their friendliness. They are used in a variety of environments, but mainly in print and packaging. The New BT fonts were also successfully implemented as the main user interface fonts on BT's television service BT Vision's set-top boxes.
